Producing innovations: bespoke and serial production

In June, LLC Sovelmash focused on refining its innovative products and the technologies for manufacturing them.
• Angle grinder. Mass production of the first batch of angle grinders featuring a motor based on the Slavyanka technology continued. At the same time, production processes were improved: press sleeves and 50 mm pistons for casting the gearbox flange were delivered, and tooling was created for group vacuum impregnation of stators.
• Motylyok (Moth) drone. The world’s first drone powered by induction motors received a newly designed frame that is lighter than the previous version. A site for flight tests has been approved.
• Other products. Tooling was fabricated for vacuum coating the controller with a protective varnish, and a prototype adapter plate was prepared for mounting the motor on a miter saw.
• Commissioning permit. On June 23, a meeting was held with LLC Sovelmash, the management of Technopolis Moscow, and supervisory authorities. The sequence of steps required to obtain the permit was defined, after which the revised documents were resubmitted for review.
NEW GENERATION AIRSHIPS
In June, the AERONOVA team worked on expanding production and prepared to assemble the second airship.
Preparing for assembly of the NOVA-2 airship. In-house-produced valves and fans were delivered to the airfield, and the airship’s air-gas system was tested. The final stabilizer tip for the tail assembly was manufactured.
Airship envelope production. A tensile test rig was assembled to check the quality of fabrics and welded seams.
Robotic transport cart for the NOVA-01 airship. The unit was built in-house and delivered to the airfield. It is needed to automate and ensure the safety of ground operations.
