Induction electric motors and their place in the world

Modern civilization cannot exist without electric motors. First and foremost, these are general purpose industrial motors used in agriculture and industry, construction and medical equipment, military equipment and aviation, scientific sector and urban infrastructure. Moreover, there is a growing trend towards the use of electric motors as part of car drives.

There are different types of electric motors. And 80% of their total number in the world is induction motors. They are so widely used because of their simple design, reliability, efficiency, durability and versatility.

Interesting facts about induction electric motors.
  •  More than 10 thousand different versions of induction motors exist in the world.
  •  Over 90 billion units are in operation.
  •  7-10 billion new induction electric motors are produced annually.
  •  60% of all electricity is consumed by induction electric motors.
  •  Approximately 80% of the motor fleet is worn out.
At the same time, for more than 60 years before the emergence of the "Slavyanka" combined winding technology, no fundamentally new technological solutions had been introduced to enhance the quality of electric motors and drives they operate in. The technology makes it possible to develop new generation electric motors that are significantly superior in performance to all known analogues. To develop the induction motors with "Slavyanka", the "Sovelmash" design and engineering technology department is being built within the framework of the project "Duyunov's motors"
